Progress to date!
Progress so far, seven months in!

It’s fall and we’ve now owned the farm for seven months!
We’ve seen a ton of progress in that time, going from a place littered—inside and out—with more stuff than you can imagine to a somewhat more orderly environment. But still there’s so much more to be done.
Two projects are poised for next steps:
The shoreline: We’ve talked to the folks at Underwood and Associates about putting in a living shoreline—as opposed to rip-rap that is harmful to the Bay. First steps would be to do an emergency operation to halt the ongoing erosion (and save the pool). Then down the road, we would add additional living shoreline areas.
The house: The house was chock-full of stuff when we bought it, with the previous owner leaving rooms full of two generations worth of things. We sifted through everything, saved a few things, had an estate sale, donated boxes and boxes (and boxes!) worth of things, and filled a dumpster. Then we gutted the interior, saving some siding that is beautiful (mahogany, redwood, and pine) though not the style we want to cover every wall in our new house. Currently the architect is drawing up some new plans!

And so it begins
Today we launched this website, mallacoosfarm.com. We are looking forward to sharing our progress with the world!
